What's the difference between the two trim modes?

'Trim Entire Text' removes whitespace only at the very start and end of the whole input. 'Trim Each Line' removes leading and trailing whitespace from every single line.

Does it remove spaces between words?

No — trimming only affects whitespace at the edges (start and end) of the text or lines, not between words.

Is this different from removing extra spaces?

Yes. Trimming removes edge whitespace only. Removing extra spaces also collapses multiple spaces between words into single spaces.
